Bailar tango: la trama de una red emocional, corporal y social
Versión en Inglés
Following a double movement, from deep rooted to rootless, from individual identity to sense of belonging, nowadays we can see it spreading out around the world. Net weaver that strings together space and time: the intimate feelings with the neighborhood and the world, the past with the present and the future.
In the beginning, tango was just a way of dancing the music that arrived to Buenos Aires from diverse cultures and countries, with improvised figures and sensual and expressive movements. It was a critical and transforming assimilation of foreign influences, a cultural blend.
Women’s poetry deserves a chapter of its own. They are supposed to let themselves be led. Although some resist, and who knows if it’s because they´re shy or in an ill-timed attack of feminism. Others are towed around, with a passivity that looks more like resignation than commitment.
They dance with the singer, who whispers snippets of dreams or nightmares in their ears.
